According to the Webster’s dictionary, intuition is:
• a natural ability or power that makes it possible to know something without any proof or evidence; a feeling that guides a person to act a certain way without fully understanding why; something that is known or understood without proof or evidence
In other words, intuition is a skill. It can be honed. It’s not a psychic ability. Nor is it hocus-pocus.
A professional Black Jack player uses his intuition when he hits on 15… because he “senses” or “feels” or “believes” there are a lot of low cards still in the deck. If you’ve ever hired someone to work for you, you use your intuition to determine if that person will be a good fit for your office. Members of the secret service use their intuition when they scan a crowd in an effort to determine if anyone close wants to cause harm to the president. You also may have used your intuition when you said to a friend “are you pregnant?” And it turns out they are. There was something unspecific and unclear about how they looked.. that caused you to make that determination.
OK. So, now it’s your turn…
